News Virtual Season 7 closed
The final story in VS7 has been posted, and the canon has been closed. Thanks to all the authors who took part, and extra special thanks to those who modded: miera, Kathy Rose, Sal, SueC, and Glory.--Kylie Lee on 05/16/2008 - 08:25AM Thanks for NDMM
Thanks to all who participated in National Drown Malcolm Reed Month! If you weren't able to get a story done in November, never fear: drowning Malcolm can be done at any time of the year. It's just celebrated in November. Do feel free to tag stories written for the challenge, regardless of post date, as NDMM.Happy holidays! --Kylie Lee on 12/13/2007 - 08:35AM Drown Malcolm Reed
Yes, it's November, which can only mean one thing: it's National Drown Malcolm Reed Month (NDMM)!It's been a long tradition in the EntST* community to take our hydrophobic Reed and add water. Any kinds of fics are welcome—gen, het, or slash—and "water" can be construed metaphorically as well as literally. To expedite this activity, and to honor all the past fics written for this long-standing tradition, I've added in Drown Malcolm Reed Month as a category under "warning." (Really, it's just a search criteria; it didn't seem like a "genre" to me.) If you'd like to go in and alter your relevant fics to add this warning, we'd love it if you would! But we'll be going through and doing it ourselves as we can find them. And for those of you running a search, here's how to limit a search to NDMM fics: Search > Advanced Search > Warning > Drown Malcolm Reed Month > Submit. --Kylie Lee on 11/04/2007 - 11:48AM Updated with posted fic
The W5C has been updated with fic posted to the lists from about August 2007. Enjoy!--Kylie Lee on 10/14/2007 - 07:52PM W5C back up
The W5C is back up and is again accepting stories and comments.--Kylie Lee on 09/10/2007 - 06:07AM New server
Our Web host has announced that this site is moving to a new server on the weekend of September 8-9. I will disable the ability to upload fic on Friday and then reenable it once I've learned that the switch has been successful.--Kylie Lee on 09/04/2007 - 06:37AM Updated with EntST* fic
Fic has been added to the W5C from the EntST* lists. Thanks to all who list the W5C in their archive line! It makes it much easier and faster.--Kylie Lee on 08/27/2007 - 12:07AM Webhosting donations
Thanks to all who donated via PayPal! We just paid our webhosting fees, and the donations paid for about half of the annual site fee. Thanks go to alice ttlg at Vox Populli for doing all the paperwork for the PayPal donation button and for tracking the donations for us.--Kylie Lee on 07/18/2007 - 11:53AM Entficathon stories added
I've added all stories from Round 4 of the entficathon (http://community.livejournal.com/entficathon/) that explicitly listed Warp 5 in the archive line. Thanks to all authors who listed us!--Kylie Lee on 07/15/2007 - 12:34AM Update of site with posted fic
I've updated the W5C with fic posted to the EntST* lists.--Kylie Lee on 02/03/2007 - 01:58PM "Drama" genre
I've gone through and edited the "Drama" genre to be only dramatic scenes (that is, script format), which is the definition of this genre. Fiction has been reclassified from "Drama" to "Story."As you upload your own stories, please categorize your stories as "Story" if they are narratives, and reserve "Drama" for dramatic scenes only. Also, it's not necessary to include any disclaimers in your story in the Author's Notes, because all pages automatically have a disclaimer footer with links. We would prefer that you omit them. --Kylie Lee on 10/15/2006 - 10:00AM Problem with Categories fixed
The problem with the drop-down Categories has been fixed. It's again possible to select specific pairings under Het and Slash. If you try to upload a fic and it won't work, then please clear your browser's cache, exit the browser and restart, and try again. That should reset the drop-down menu.--Kylie Lee on 09/03/2006 - 07:30PM Software upgraded
The fic-archiving software has been upgraded to its most recent version. Please e-mail the Archivist if you experience any problems with the interface.--Kylie Lee on 08/28/2006 - 10:07PM Warp 5 updated with fic
I've updated the Warp 5 Complex with fic from the two lists that sponsor the site, EntSTSlash and EntSTFic; and with fic from the LiveJournal community entficathon, which is in the middle of posting Round 3. We're getting a lot of fic cross-posted to the lists from LiveJournal; so do please, on LiveJournal posts, indicate Warp 5 Complex in an archive line if you want it archived here.--Kylie Lee on 08/21/2006 - 11:00PM Requesting passwords
I've discovered that if an author has more than one pseud on the site, all keyed to the same e-mail address, then the "request password" function won't work. If this is the case for you, please contact me, tell me the pseuds you need passwords for, and I will get them for you. Also, I've added "The Tens" to the warp5 skin, because it's fun to see all the statistics the site can track.--Kylie Lee on 06/29/2006 - 11:24AM Hotmail bounce problems
A couple people have written saying they've requested a password, which the computer says it sends but which they never got. All the attempted accounts are Hotmail accounts. I'm not sure what's up, but if you're experiencing this problem, contact me and I'll get a password for you.--Kylie Lee on 05/13/2006 - 07:33AM Site reskinned
I've reskinned the warp5 default skin in order to get the "Categories" quick-pick list to show up again. It should look...almost exactly the same. The Virtual Season 5 stories have been added as a category, and I've created a category for fanfic set in the VS, in case anybody wants to write some. The Virtual site is still up and will be edited to include artwork and other elements that can't be archived here with the fic. --Kylie Lee on 04/26/2006 - 11:45AM Software upgrade
I've upgraded the software to the newest version. The upgrade somehow made the quick-pick "Categories" listing on the index page disappear. I'm trying to get it back, but meanwhile, please use the "Categories" hotlink on the menu.--Kylie Lee on 04/23/2006 - 11:58AM Site goes live!
The new version of the Warp 5 Complex has gone live! Please have fun browsing the new site. The new software permits author uploads, and it is possible to leave comments for authors if you are a logged-in user.To ease searches by date, we have input the composition or original upload date of all fic in the summary block, thereby making the date searchable. The "old" Warp 5 will be deleted on May 10, 2006, but it will stay up and browsable until then as a backup. Authors, please keep those corrections coming! --Kylie Lee on 04/10/2006 - 07:01AM Author correction time!
I just sent a mass e-mail out to all authors input into the system so they'll have an opportunity to correct their fic before the site goes live on April 10. I immediately got over 80 e-mail bounces. I will go through and delete these e-mail addresses out of the system. Authors, please e-mail the Archivist with any e-mail corrections. We've also had complaints that the entstcommunity domain e-mail addresses are bouncing. To address this, we've created a gmail account for the site, and this new address has been published throughout the Warp 5 Complex. The old address is still being checked. --Kylie Lee on 04/02/2006 - 03:57PM Author input progress report
The mirroring of the fic in the AutoArchive Warp 5 Complex has been completed. Thanks to Mara G. and Mareel for their help.Acquisitions are ongoing. Kylie is researching fic and e-mailing authors with requests to archive. --Kylie Lee on 02/27/2006 - 12:53PM |
